Welcome to Camp Nejeda

Three young girls are standing on a porch, smiling and hugging each other. The girl on the left is wearing a dark green T-shirt with a drawing and the words 'life is sweet.' The girl in the middle is wearing a colorful tie-dye T-shirt, and the girl on the right is wearing a pastel-colored T-shirt. There is a yellow wall with a room behind them and a green house number 11 on the wall.

Located in beautiful Sussex County, New Jersey just 60 miles from New York City and 100 miles from Philadelphia, Camp Nejeda offers something unique to children living with type 1 diabetes and their families; a place where people just get it.

Nejeda is a place where having diabetes is the norm and where there is no need to explain blood sugar testing, finger pricks, insulin injections, ketones, 'lows', boluses or 'carb' counting. Everyone here already understands! This normalizing of their experience combines with both formal and informal educational moments to promote good diabetes management and healthy, active living.

The addition of our Family Camps, Day Camps, Spring and Fall Weekend programs and Survive and Thrive program offered throughout the year, expands the empowering fellowship and educational opportunities for individuals with type 1 diabetes of all ages and their families.
