At Camp Nejeda, S.U.G.A.R. is in our blood!

Nope, not just the kind you count carbs for—we’re talking about the values that make camp unforgettable: Support, Unity, Growth, Awareness, and Resilience. From the first “welcome!” at check-in to the last campfire of the summer, we’ve got each other’s backs. We lift each other up, celebrate what makes us unique, and grow stronger together—out on the lake, in the cabins, and everywhere in between.

These five little words pack a powerful punch—and they're what turn a week at camp into a lifelong spark of confidence, connection, and pure Nejeda magic.

At Camp Nejeda, support means showing up for each other—no matter what. Whether someone’s managing a tough blood sugar, missing home, or just needs a buddy for the talent show, our staff and peers are there to encourage, guide, and lift each other up. Every child is met with understanding, compassion, and the kind of support that helps them thrive. We’re all in this together, and nobody has to face anything alone at camp.

Camp Nejeda is a community where every child belongs. Unity means building a strong, inclusive environment where shared experiences—especially around T1D—create lifelong bonds. Campers may come from different places, have different stories, and rock different pump sites, but at Nejeda, they come together as one team, one family, one community.

We believe camp is a powerful space for growth. Campers gain confidence in managing their diabetes, develop independence, and try new things—sometimes for the very first time. Whether it’s changing a pump site on their own or climbing to the top of the rock wall, Camp Nejeda helps kids discover just how capable they really are.

At Camp Nejeda, awareness means empowering campers with knowledge—about type 1 diabetes, their own health, and overall wellness. We create opportunities for kids to learn more about their condition in a fun, hands-on, and age-appropriate way. Camp helps kids build the confidence to make smart choices and feel proud of what they know. Awareness here isn’t just about blood sugars—it’s about building a foundation for lifelong health, independence, and self-advocacy.

Living with type 1 diabetes (and being a kid in 2025) takes strength—and our campers have plenty of it. Camp Nejeda nurtures resilience by creating a safe space to face challenges, build confidence, and bounce back with courage. In dealing with a stubborn low or navigating living with 7 noisy cabin mates, we support our campers in working through their emotions in healthy, constructive ways. At Camp Nejeda, we teach skills that not only build stronger kids—but stronger people.
