Camp Nejeda Programs
Camp Nejeda offers different types of programs during the summer including a one-week session for new campers, two-week sessions for older campers, a Leader-in-Training (LIT) program and weekend length family camps on its 72 wooded acres in Stillwater, New Jersey.
Each of Camp Nejeda's camp programs are designed to offer our campers a fun, age-appropriate camping experience while encouraging a positive attitude about living with type 1 diabetes. Campers receive a unique, hands-on opportunity to enhance their personal diabetes management skills, build their confidence and self-esteem, and move towards becoming independent in their own care.
In addition to the summer programs, Camp Nejeda now offers new year-round programs for specific groups of people with diabetes. These programs will continue to honor the tradition of outstanding programs that Camp Nejeda has been known for!
Family Camp Programs
Our family camps offer a fun mini-vacation for the whole family and are a great introduction to the Camp Nejeda Experience for young children and newly diagnosed children. They also provide a peek into camp life for parents and siblings. As we recognize that manging diabetes can be challenging for the entire family, the many fun family-friendly camp activities are supplemented with opportunities for parents, kids and siblings to meet and talk with other people who share their unique challenges.
Camp Nejeda is proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association, which means we meet up to 300 standards for health, safety, and program quality. Camp Nejeda is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and is a member of the Diabetes Education and Camping Association.
