Nejeda Medical Committee & Staff
Medical Director: Ernest Post, MD- The Medical Director is the Chair of the Medical Committee, a group of concerned and committed medical professionals who establish and review Camp Nejeda's medical policies and procedures.
Health Center Director: Marilyn Geydoshek, RN - The Health Center Director (HCD) works year round to staff, stock and organize the Health Center.
Health & Medical Job Opportunities
Charge Nurses coordinates and facilitates the daily operations of the Health Center during each session of camp. (four to eight/summer)
Cabin Nurses meet with campers for insulin delivery at each meal, snack, bedtime, and whenever else required, assist with pump site changes, work in the Health Center on "boo boo" duty, go on field trips with the campers, and become part of the camp community and the Camp Nejeda Family. Cabin Nurses usually work at camp for one or two weeks and come from diverse professional and personal backgrounds. (10/wk of Summer Camp, variable number for Extended Programs)
Camp Nejeda holds pre-camp orientation(s) where nurses can earn Contact Hours while learning baout diabetes management.
Dietitian (one per summer)
Daytime Health Center Assistant (one per summer)
Nighttime Health Center Assistant (one per summer)
To join the ranks of our volunteer or paid staff, print the Staff-Volunteer Application and return it to the Camp Nejeda Foundation office. Everyone must complete the first two pages. Candidates for the Program Staff should complete all three pages.Background, certification and license checks are run on ALL staff and volunteers who work on the grounds during camp programs.
PLEASE NOTE: Health Center Staff bringing children (with or without diabetes) with them to camp must also complete registration form and health forms for their child.
