Volunteering at Camp Nejeda
The Camp Nejeda Foundation receives many hundreds of hours of volunteer support each year, without which we could not make the Camp Nejeda experience possible.
If you have a skill or trade that you want to put to use for Camp Nejeda, please contact the office at (973) 383-2611 to find out current needs or the schedule of upcoming work days. We can use help from, but not limited to, the following: plumbers, carpenters, nurses, physicians, licensed electricians, printers, landscapers, excavators and computer technicians. Background, certification and license checks are run on ALL staff and volunteers who work on the grounds during camp programs.
Program Staff and Health Center Staff
of our Program Staff and many of our Health Center Staff volunteer
their time and experience or work below scale for the good of the
children. Each session of camp is staffed by a Pediatric Endocrinologist
who volunteers his or her time and a third-year Family Practice
Resident from Hunterdon Medical Center. Past staff who cannot dedicate
their whole summers to Camp Nejeda often volunteer to work for a week or
more. To volunteer for a staff position, please complete and return
the Staff-Volunteer Application Form and submit the proper paperwork from the Staff Forms list.
Board of Trustees
Camp Nejeda's chief volunteers are the Trustees of the Camp Nejeda Foundation, who provide guidance and strategic oversight of the organization. The Board of Trustees also relies on volunteers who serve on Board committees, including Alumni, Finance, Facilities, Program, Nominating, Medical, Fundraising, and occasional ad hoc committees.
Camp Nejeda hosts several visits each year during which corporate employees work onsite at Camp Nejeda on projects from IT installations to grounds clean-up. Volunteer groups from such companies as Novo Nordisk, Alcatel-Lucent, sanofi-aventis, Selective Insurance, and Kohl's have contributed hundreds of hours each year to help prepare Camp Nejeda for the summer.
Special Events/Fund Raisers
Special events need organized people to help plan and execute countless details. They also require lots of people on the day of the event.
