Health Center Staff: Camp Nejeda's health program is guided by our Medical Director, a Pediatric Endocrinologist. The health team is lead by our Health Center Director, an RN. Family Practice Residents from the Hunterdon Medical Center stay at camp when children are present. The camp employs a Registered Dietitian to assist our kitchen staff with meal planning and to provide nutritional education to campers. The Camp's goal each summer is to recruit enough nurses so that each camper cabin can be attended by it's own nurse (10 nurses per week). The nurses meet with campers for insulin delivery at each meal, snack, bedtime or whenever required.
Program Staff: Our Camp Director has over 20 years experience at his job… over 15 of those years are here at Camp Nejeda! Our program staff hold certifications and training in camp related skills such as CPR, First Aid, Archery, Life guarding, Low ropes, etc. The majority of our program staff are alumni of the Camp and have type 1 diabetes themselves. We also enrich the Nejeda experience by hiring a compliment of international staff. (Note: For safety reasons all international staff must speak fluent English.)

"I like coming here so I can meet new friends. At home I have friends, but they don't have diabetes" - Reginald W. |
